However, if you’re looking for a really professional finish you’ll need to call in the Dorking wood flooring experts.

CAN YOU DO IT WITHOUT MAKING A MESS?
HOW LONG WILL THE WORK TAKE?
We’ve been sanding and restoring wooden floors in Dorking for 20 years and can say with confidence that the average room will take on average two days to repair, sand and finish. By ‘average’ we mean something the size of a regular lounge or dining area. Allow one day for repairs and up to three sweeps with the sanding machines. This will depend on the state of the floorboards and if they are in an especially poor condition it may take slightly longer.
A further day will be needed to expertly apply the finish you’ve chosen to complete the job. This will have to be left alone for a further day, or two to be on the safe side, after we’ve gone and before you will be able to move the furniture back in.

SHOULD I JUST CUT MY LOSSES AND GET A NEW FLOOR?
In our 20 years’ experience of wood floor sanding and finishing in Dorking, almost any wooden floor can be successfully renovated, no matter how bad it looks initially. As a matter of fact, the thick layers of old paint and caked grime that makes it look so ugly may actually be protecting the fresh wood underneath. Think of a chrysalis, miraculously concealing the beauty of the butterfly, which will soon emerge into the light of day – that’s the potential of that grimy old wooden floor currently hiding underneath that grime!
It is all in a day’s work for us to repair or replace damaged floorboards, and the old paint and other grime will be sanded away by our dust-eliminating sanding machines. By the time we’ve applied the eco-friendly finish your old floor will be a thing of the past and the smooth, gleaming new one a source of pride and joy. Contact us today to get things started.
